Mr Poon,
Having read the review by Frank Alles of "The Stereo Times" about your SET amplifiers, I had to test your remarks to him that these 8 watt SET tube amps would work with "speakers of at least 93dB/W". As you know I own a pair of Legacy Focus 20/20 5 way 7 driver speakers weighing in at 185 lbs each. Each speaker consists of (3) 12 inch subwoofers, (2) 7 inch Kevlar midwoofers, (1) 1.25 inch Dome midrange and one ribbon tweeter. However they have a rated sensitivity of 95db @ 2.83V with an impedance of 4 ohms. Indeed they are physically beasts of a speaker in size as you can see by the pictures I sent you. I am using your SE-250 amps with all of there 250 watts per channel @ 8 ohms and 500 watts @ 4 ohms to drive them and was quite happy with the results. Happy that is until now.
I can not believe that an 8 watt tube amplifier can drive these speakers, especially the (3) 12 inch massive subwoofers, yet they do. They produce the superior midrange magic of an SET amplifier and beautiful matching midrange bass as well. I am not saying that I am unhappy with my SE-250 amps, it is just that for a lot less money I can now own a pair of monoblock SET amplifiers that with my sensitive speakers can produce magic unlike I have never heard. For lower sensitivity speakers the SE-250's are a necessity but I find that I can reproduce the sound level I need with your new DA08SE amps and retain the all tube SET magic and lower price as well. I am bi-wiring with a braided triple strand of your speaker wire for the woofers and a single strand of the same wire for the mid and upper frequencies. Perhaps I will try the SE250'S on the woofers (for that low bass sound) and the DA08SE's on top? I will get back to you on that one.
From the pictures you can see I also use your Monarchy Audio AC-Regenerator that I have been switching back and forth between the Sony DVP-7700 and the two DA08SE amps and I can not decide which way I like it better but both work extremely well. Oh yes and my wife loves the new sound coming from our speakers, but more then once she has had to tell me to "turn it down I am watching TV in the other room" and of course I do but I laugh to myself, 8 watts and I am getting complains about the sound level, unbelievable!".

I started out with one pair of Dignity Audio DA08SE Set amplifiers and the sound was so good that I decided to buy another pair. I am now Bi-amping my Legacy Focus 20/20 speakers and I have never been happier. Here are the pictures of my system.
