Hi,
I picked up the Classic Wed. It sounds much better than
the 24/96.
I wrote a review on Audio Asylum:

Ming,
One final question, what is the difference between the new DIP Classic
and
the model it just replaced, the Monarchy DIP 24/96 - Digital Interface
Processor?
Thanks for all your help via email.
I am nearly ready to place an order.

P.S.
Will a 24-bit/96 kHz or 24/192 DAC be offered?
reply:
1: The DIP 2496 outputs the same sampling as the input.
The DIP Classic outputs a precision 44.1KHz
clock.
2: 24/192 DAC's are in the works. Should be ready by summer.

Ming,
Thanks for your reply. Is the version of the DIP that you offer
for $249,
the "Classic" the latest, most current version? Also, can you
explain the
"user upgradeable" option in # 5 and 6 from your email. The "Classic"
outputs a fixed 44.1Khz signal (to the DAC?) Is this the portion
that can
be upgraded to output a 96 Khz signal. If so, which is preferred
and why.
reply:
Some users need to use the DIP Classic to mate with the newer generation
of DAC's.
We provide this option at a cost effective price.
I am using a MSB Link III Gold DAC that up-samples to 96 and 132 Khz.
Am I correct that the new Classic accepts input signals from the CD
or DVD
up to 96Khz without upgrading?
reply:
The Classic accepts all signals from 32 to 96KHz.
But the output is fixed at 44.1Khz unless the upgrade kit is installed
(for 96 KHz output)
Thanks. At the time I am ready to place an order, do I call or
send an
email?
